e-Commerce Advantage Program
Module 3
"Getting more out of
the Internet for your business"
We concentrate on our Business Communications Channels.
HOW
we integrate e-commerce into our existing business infrastructure.
This workshop generally aimed at businesses who have already seen some business
advantage in embracing e-commerce as part of their strategy will give the program
participants further insight into how to enhance their own web site projects and clarify
much of the more advanced terminology.
The design and narrative structure of "Getting more out of the Internet for
your business" picks up the themes developed in "Putting the Internet to
work for your business". The two workshops are best presented
separately supported by individual e-commerce audits and project analysis to
heighten awareness of the many areas covered.
The technical parameters of "Getting more out of the Internet for your
business" includes:
- Organisations that are using the Internet to find valuable business information.
- Organisations that use a web site to attract new business.
- Organisations that offer client-access to their databases via a web site.
- Organisations using the Net for business transactions.
At this point in the course of study most businesses who have completed workshop 1 have
naturally progressed to the above level with most participants purchasing a dialup
connection, using email and planning the development of a web site.
It is the purpose of "Getting more out of the Internet for your business"
to enable the program participants to isolate any weaknesses in their e-commerce strategy,
help them to make some educated guesses about the future path of business and prepare them
with the concepts and tools they need to take the next step. This workshop will give the
participants a clear understanding of the e-commerce communication channels available to
them.
Although both workshops emphasize the operational benefits of business to business
transactions, the presentation materials provide examples of both business to business and
business to consumer transactions. This is to introduce a broader concept of e-commerce as
a communications chain that links supplier, reseller and consumer.
